The "Ultraviolet Sky Surveys: the needs and the means" conference was held in Tel Aviv University, Israel, from 10th to 14th July 2017. Nearly fifty talks addressed topics ranging from the status of UV Astronomy and on-development missions instrumentation, to detailed presentations on exoplanets research, and analyses of stellar, galactic and extragalactic sources, using past and in-operation facilities, such as GALEX or HST.

AEGORA team members had a strong presence in this symposium because their involvement in WSO-UV project. They presented their most recent results on both Science and Engineering fields. Their talks addressed MHD simulations of protostellar jets, dispersal of ISM features, distribution of dust grains in Orion, simulations of results from WSO-UV imagers and Mission Data Archive development issues. Prof. A.I. Gomez de Castro participated the last day of the symposium in the panel of experts discussing the future trends on UV Astronomy, being in charge of the concluding remarks that closed the conference.
